EXPERIENCE MAHSA SALEHI ART & DESIGN STUDIO
MY STORY
I am a former Interior Designer student at The Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent, Belgium.
An interiors stylist who specializes in designing interiors and creating 'homes'. I have an eye for selecting furniture, art and textiles which create interesting and memorable interiors.
But I breathe arts in many different ways and find myself being creative in various ways. It can be with a camera capturing the fascinating nature or me finding myself painting for hours in my garden.

My goal is to bring light in our daily life and that with a creative touch. I want to make everyone look beyond than what they think they see.

As Albert Einstein said "Creativity is intelligence having fun".
BACHELOR THESIS - OPEN END I
Creating a place where one can find peace during the difficult moments in life.
The site of this project is in the middle of a forest. My chosen spot is crossed by a walking path. You end up in a circular, concrete element while following the normal path. Everything seems very normal at first sight. When you look closer, you'll see engraved textures on the curved walls. The real pictures of the surrounding trees have been processed into a simple texture. The unnecessary details are no longer there. In a subtle way, you are surrounded by the existing trees and nature, but without the many colors and details. This all is to help you find peace when you reach this place.

BACHELOR THESIS - OPEN END II
Creating a place where one can find peace during the difficult moments in life.
For this project I chose a spot by the pond. Water can be really soothing at many times. Moreover, you also have a beautiful view of a green nature. A pavilion made of concrete and wooden slats. The verticality of the surrounding trees is reflected in the wooden parts. The pavilion is half open, from the back side you can't see what happens inside. A matter of privacy. You are only completely exposed to the nature. There is a small and a larger space. You can sit with several people by the fire and enjoy the peace and the beautiful view, or you can read a book by your own in the smaller space.

WHEELCHAIR UNIT
An Inside Look
A teamwork with fellow students. Creating a living space for a single mother and her wheelchair-using son. The challenge in this project was to offer a wheelchair user his own living space and privacy. The stairs are equipped with a wheelchair lift. The ground floor is designed for the son, but he can visit his mother on the first floor without any problem.
